Expert intreview of S.Šarkić: The Influence of Byzantine Law on Serbian Mediaeval Law

Serbian law from the early thirteenth century developed under the direct influence of Byzantine law. Serbian jurists adopted the Byzantine law through translation of Byzantine legal compilations. Dušan’s Code as the most important legal source of mediaeval Serbian law took about 60 article directly from the Basilica: the most important are articles 171 and 172.
